Review of CURVD earplugs
Working from home and freelancing often require that you pack it up and get out of the house to work. That means you will be subject to the conversations of people in the cafe, airport, or coworking space you land in. That’s why I clip these cute, fashionable, and colorful CURVD earplugs to my go bag. When the noises distract me, I snap them into my ears to soften them so I can focus.

The earplugs themselves are small and discreet. They are comfortable in my ears, too. Unlike those squishy gel ones, they don’t block out all sound; I find that disconcerting. These merely dim the noise so I can easily ignore it.
They fit neatly into an aluminum case that clips to the strap of my bag so I don’t have to remember them. I only have to remember I have them when I am tempted to shout “SHHHH!!!!!” like an angry librarian.
Take them to concerts, too
I use these earplugs to help me focus — sometimes even at home — but they are also a lifesaver at concerts, which can be too loud for my happiness or the health of my hearing. I wore them to a nightclub and the 30 dB sound reduction they offer made it possible for me to stay in my seat despite a cacophony of harsh sound that would otherwise have driven me to flee.
CURVD sent me a bunch of these earplugs. So I gave a pair to my friend Tracy. She is a musician who spends her workday in loud music venues. Previously, she carried those bright orange foam earplugs that musicians rely on to save their hearing.

She was thrilled with her CURVD earplugs and wore them at work and at home, where her husband is often on the phone doing work calls she doesn’t want to listen to. “One thing I dig is the four sizes,” she told me. “I have small ears and the smallest one is perfect for me and they really do stay put. These will be my go-to earplugs for travel and are nice to have on my keychain in a pinch.”
I gave another pair to a friend who often uses hearing protection to work with loud equipment. He quickly added them to his everyday toolbox. He often wears more serious over-ear sound protection but these, he said, were great for working with a chainsaw or another tool that is annoyingly loud and it’s easy to have them on hand.
